WHAT IS A DISCIPLE?
Jesus tells his friends, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
At Bellaire UMC, we define a disciple as:
A disciple is a follower of Jesus whose life is centering on loving God and loving others.
MAKING DISCIPLES
Disciples believe in God, love God, believe that Jesus is Lord and Savior, and seek to live as Jesus lived. We seek to do this by connecting people to God, connecting people to people, and connecting people to service.
TRANSFORMING THE WORLD
As people whose lives are centering on loving God and loving others, we don’t come to church to escape from the world. Rather, we go out into the world and partner with God to transform it into a more beautiful, more loving, more faithful, more just world.
