Born in Houston, Michael attended Sam Houston State University where he earned a degree in English/Creative Writing.  He is currently a certified candidate for ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church.  He is married to his college sweetheart, Chrissy and they share two wonderful children together, Gabriel (7) and Benton (4).  Both kids keep them on their toes… constantly.

I Was Born… in Houston, a precious little baby boy.  The #1 song at the time of my birth on the radio was “You Light Up My Life” by Debby Boone.

On the way to church the other day… my child leans forward and asks me, “Dad, do you know who Jesus is?  Cuz’ it’s really important that you know who he is.”

My biggest challenge is… maintaining organization while juggling all my different responsibilities.

My favorite Bible verse is… Revelation 22:5– There will be no more night.  They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.  And they will reign for ever and ever.

The one thing I want people to realize when they come to Bellaire UMC is… this is a great place to be… for adults and kids.

My favorite children’s book is… The Boxcar Children.  Just something about the way those stories are told.

My last meal would be… a breakfast consisting of eggs with cheese, pancakes, waffles, don’t really care about sausage or bacon, orange juice and an enormous Coke (with real sugar).  Then I’d ask for a lunch that consisted of cold fried chicken (my grandmother’s recipe) and mustard potato salad with a large Mountain Dew (again with real sugar).  Then for dessert…
