Our Beliefs
as Christians...
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He arose again. He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

as United Methodists...
As United Methodists, we have an obligation to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ, the living reality at the center of the Church's life and witness. To fulfill this obligation, we reflect critically on our biblical and theological inheritance, striving to express faithfully the witness we make in our own time. Two considerations are central to this endeavor: the sources from which we derive our theological affirmations and the criteria by which we assess the adequacy of our understanding and witness. John Wesley believed that the living core of the Christian faith was revealed in Scripture, illumined by tradition, vivified in personal experience and confirmed by reason. (from umc.org)

as Members of Bellaire United Methodist Church...
We believe the mission of Bellaire United Methodist Church is to glorify God as revealed in the Bible and personified in Jesus Christ by becoming disciples, being disciples and making disciples. We understand that discipleship involves developing an intimate relationship with God and committing oneself to the work of Jesus and His church through: prayer, attending worship, giving, serving (having a ministry), learning about Jesus and the Christian faith, witnessing, shepherding and loving one another.
