Youth & Children Music
Through rhythm, movement, melody and words, the Youth and children’s music programs at Bellaire UMC stress learning about the voice, music reading skills and worship leading in addition to learning to listen and learning the stories of our faith through the songs they sing.
Jesus Junkies
Our youth praise band is open to individuals in the 6th – 12th grades. They lead music in worship infrequently for the Contemporary service. Music is of a wide variety that speaks to youth and adults both musically and contextually.

Junior Messengers
Our eldest children’s choir is for students from 3rd – 6th grades. They sings regularly for worship and present two large programs each year. The first is a Christmas pageant through which they learn to tell the story of Christ’s birth, learning carols that are so much a part of our Christmas traditions. The second is a spring children’s musical, staged in the Sanctuary on Mother’s Day during the 10:55 a.m. worship service. The children learn lines, solos and staging while having fun together.

Joyful Noisemakers
Our littlest musicians, ages four and five sing their praises to God in this children’s choir. They use songs with simple melodies and a limited amount of text to help find and develop their singing voices, develop motor skills and the beginnings of basic musical concepts. Members sing regularly for worship and participate in the pageant and the spring musical on a smaller scale.
