Adult and Intergenerational Music

Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir sings weekly for the 10:55 a.m. Traditional Worship service from August through June, taking the month of July off.  Membership in the Sanctuary Choir is open to anyone from the 10th grade and up, without audition.  The music is of a wide variety with an emphasis on solid choral technique, good music and fellowship.  The choir has a weekend retreat in the fall and usually prepares two major works per year for presentation with orchestra.  Soloists are members of the choir and are coached by the Director of Music Ministries as part of the choir program.  The choir has sung at the Texas Annual Conference and in massed concert with five other area congregations.  Members have twice represented Bellaire UMC at the International Church Music Festival; once in Bern, Switzerland and once in Coventry, England.

There are different levels of musicianship in this choir, from accomplished soloists to those who are still mastering the skills of singing.  We have a special place for you to serve God through music!
