NAEYC Accreditation



School for Little Children has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 1987. NAEYC is the largest accreditation body for early childhood programs in the United States. NAEYC accreditation is a voluntary program that raises the quality of early childhood education practices beyond the state standards. Day Away is a two-day program that serves children aged 15 months through 2 1/2 years. Classes meet on Monday from 9 AM until noon and Tuesday from 9 AM until 2 PM. Two teachers serve in each classroom. 

   

School for Little Children serves children from 2 1/2 years old through Pre-Kindergarten. Class hours are 9 AM until noon. 

    

Stay and Play

This is an optional program that extends the child's day until 2 PM. It is a relaxed, fun time where children bring their lunch. Our teachers and regular substitutes staff the program. Children do not nap, but our license requires that we provide a brief rest time. 

Tuesday is the Stay and Play day for Monday/Tuesday classes. Children enrolled in turning-three classes are not included until after Christmas. Thursday is the Stay and Play day for three-day classes. Five-day classes may stay on Tuesday initially and then on Tuesday and/or Thursday beginning the middle of October. 

Children who attend Stay and Play must be reliably toilet trained. 

The fee is $12 per session and may be paid weekly or included with your tuition payment.
